Our children have further developed their learning about woodlands, by re-telling the story the Gruffalo. This was further extended by children learning about garden birds as well as creating a bug hotel. Some of our children were also involved in learning how to cook popcorn on an open fire, while others have been developing their physical skills by learning to long jump and measure the distance they traveled.
Our children have been involved in a wide range of learning including learning about habitats and creating their own woodland. Do come into Air room and have a look. Other children have been exploring paint. We wish you all a very happy and safe weekend.
Our children have been involved in a range of learning including exploring our pond, following instructions to make play dough as well listening to and re-telling stories, conducting experiments, and extending our knowledge about body parts through our role-play of a ‘doctor’s surgery and talking with our children about Remembrance Sunday. Many of our children have been asking questions about why people are wearing poppies, our approach is to answer children’s questions in the following context: people wear poppies to think about people who have died in wars and to hope we do not have any more wars. What we all need to do is be kind to each other. We wish you all a very happy and safe weekend.
A warm welcome to all our parents/carers and children after the half-term break. We have had our children involved in a range of learning including understanding the roles of a doctor’s surgery, understanding the festival of Diwali and Guy Fawkes, exploring the concepts of push and pull, and lastly the re-telling of familiar stories. We also had a group of parents/carers and children participating in the re-naming of Cassland Gardens to Kit Crowley Gardens. Kit was an ex-member of staff at Wentworth Nursery School in the 1960s. My thanks to all the families who attended the workshop on promoting children’s talk, we will be sending out the slides to the presentation to all parents on Monday.
