Wentworth Nursery School is an outstanding state maintained nursery school. We are a community school where every child matters. Since 1998 we have retained an outstanding judgement from Ofsted; additionally for the last five years our children have achieved higher scores at the end of their Foundation Year than their peers both in Hackney and nationally.

Ofsted use the school SEF (self evaluation form) to review each school’s thoughts on their own strengths, training requirements and areas for improvement as one of their areas for evaluation during inspections. SEF in schools allows the leaders to effectively plan key areas of improvement and how to achieve their performance goals.

Everyone at Wentworth Nursery School and Children’s Centre who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. Wentworth staff are particularly important in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children as we are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help for children, to prevent concerns from escalating. Our staff form part of the wider safeguarding system for children. Our staff will work with children’s social care, the police, health services and others services to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.
