Our children have been involved in highly motivating and challenging learning experiences, from acting out parts of a familiar story, to sharing stories and mark making to designing and building. We have also had some children involved in cooking sweet corn as well as others have been learning about what plants need to grow and how to keep healthy including looking at a real heart! Wishing you all a very happy and safe half term and see you all on Monday 7th June.

The children have been involved in some extraordinary learning from exploring forces,ย  to consolidating their understanding about what plants need to grow as well as developing their talk, counting and problem solving skills through our shop role play. Our two-year-olds have been further developing their understanding in taking turns and helping one another. We wish you all a very happy and safe weekend.

Following our Full Governing Body meeting on Tuesday 18th May, the following key points should be noted.

The children’s toilets in the nursery school will be refurbished over the summer holidays; to provide a more environmental provision for the children of Wentworth.

The children’s Centre was involved in contributing to the Today Programme on Radio 4 with Evan Davis in regards to the possible impact the national pandemic has had on young children’s communication and language development. The Governing Body fully supports the School’s work on race and identity and reiterates the clear message racism will not be tolerated within our organisation.

The school has been providing training to a number of schools in the following areas: race and identity, the new Early Years Curriculum and how young children acquire and develop their vocabulary.

Our children have been involved in a wide range of learning experiences from exploring corn and making pop corn to creating potions and rhymes. Additionally, some of our children have been developing their play and imagination through ‘shop play’, learning to use a sewing machineย  and others learning about clay. We have also had a large group of children learning about Eid, a rich experience promoting children’s talk as well as understanding about different cultures and festivals. Wishing you all a very happy and safe weekend.

Our children have been in a wide range of learning from, following a simple recipe, creating a factual book about how to care for chicks, to planning and designing of rockets and learning about our solar system. We have also had some children deepening their knowledge about how to look after our planet and in so doing learning about the dangers of plastic, particularly when they are put in the sea. We wish all our families who will be celebrating Ramadan this coming Wednesday or Thursday, happy ramadan
