02 Jul Learning week ending Friday 2nd July 2021

Our children have been continuing their learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. Many of our leaver’s have also been learning about some of the new terms they may be experiencing when they go to Primary school, such as registration and assembly time. Our Eco Committee has created a short survey to find out the views of parents and staff about Cassland road and how we can improve the safety for our children and families. Please remember we will be having some filming taking place next week from Wednesday 7th to Friday 9th July to promote our school. If any parents/carers would like to take part in a short interview please let the school office know and equally if you would rather not have you child filmed do let us know. Children have been learning about creating rhyming potions, life cycle of a caterpillar, re-telling familiar stories and learning about repeating patterns.

18 Jun Learning Week Ending Friday 18th June 2021

Our children have been continually developing their knowledge and skills in knowing how to follow a simple recipe. Other children have been involved in developing their imaginative skills and ability in counting as well as talk through participating in a bakery role play. Some other children have been developing their football skills, learning how to kick with directionality, stop a ball, and begin to dribble with a ball! 11 Jun Children’s Learning Week Ending Friday 11th June

The children have been involved in an extensive range of learning experiences including of two year olds learning about cooking corn. Our nursery aged children have been  learning about where flour comes from, including the grinding of wheat. We have also had some children involved in learning how to create a  simple rhythm using our djembe drums as well as of course knowing how to keep cool during this hot weather.

28 May Children’s Learning Week Ending Friday 28th May 2021

Our children have been involved in highly motivating and challenging learning experiences, from acting out parts of a familiar story, to sharing stories and mark making to designing and building. We have also had some children involved in cooking sweet corn as well as others have been learning about what plants need to grow and how to keep healthy including looking at a real heart! 21 May Children’s Learning week ending Friday 21st May 2021

The children have been involved in some extraordinary learning from exploring forces,  to consolidating their understanding about what plants need to grow as well as developing their talk, counting and problem solving skills through our shop role play. Our two-year-olds have been further developing their understanding in taking turns and helping one another. We wish you all a very happy and safe weekend.

14 May Children’s Learning week ending Friday 14th May 2021

Our children have been involved in a wide range of learning experiences from exploring corn and making pop corn to creating potions and rhymes. Additionally, some of our children have been developing their play and imagination through ‘shop play’, learning to use a sewing machine  and others learning about clay. We have also had a large group of children learning about Eid, a rich experience promoting children’s talk as well as understanding about different cultures and festivals. 07 May Learning week ending Friday 7th May 2021

Our children have been in a wide range of learning from, following a simple recipe, creating a factual book about how to care for chicks, to planning and designing of rockets and learning about our solar system. We have also had some children deepening their knowledge about how to look after our planet and in so doing learning about the dangers of plastic, particularly when they are put in the sea. We wish all our families who will be celebrating Ramadan this coming Wednesday or Thursday, happy ramadan
